Psychologist who can’t connect with new clients? Launch a course instead.

I was trolling one of our local Facebook groups the other day when I came upon an interesting conversation that related to the psychologists who purchase PLR content from me.

Someone was talking about how it’s impossible to get mental health services. She said the waiting lists are miles long and most people don’t have the right insurance coverage.

Meanwhile, I’m over here having worked for life coaches and therapists in a marketing and writing capacity since 2004.

I write self-help advice that psychologists, therapists and coaches use to make affordable digital products like ebooks, that are designed to help people.

I know that coaching is very nichey. But more people should know about it. They should recognize that this is a viable option to help them improve their lives and get healthy.

If you’re a therapist or life coach wondering how to connect with people who can benefit from your expertise but don’t know how to get past the health insurance red tape, this is what I want you to do.

Pretend that you’re already sitting across from your client. This person has a problem and you can help solve it. What is the problem? (Yes, there are many problems, issues are never ending. But just pick one.)

You could even make a list. Brainstorm some of the most common troubles that people come to you with looking to lighten their load.

Now pretend that you’re going to give some heartfelt advice to your paying client. What will you say? What advice will you offer?

The key is to start thinking in progressive steps and goals. First isolate the issues. Then maybe give the client an opportunity to speak freely and release some emotions in a safe way if they need to.

Next, you want to lay out a plan for them. Most people do not have a plan. They’re trapped in the same self-defeating patterns and going in circles. It’s your job to help them form an arrow to exit this situation so they can move on to something better.

This is where digital products come in. Courses. Ebooks. Group coaching programs and memberships.

The affordable, private, viable and practical solution for people who need mental health support but don’t qualify or can’t shoulder the expense.

Or, what about a private, safe space online to offer a membership where people who need mental health support can get it from the privacy and security of their own home computers?

You’re visiting my website now. This is a website about writing, but it is also a member site.

People log in here and pay small amounts for content and advice that they can use.

If you wanted to get potential clients together for a membership and start uploading resources in the same way that I upload content files, you can absolutely do this.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Step one, you want to create your first digital product as a coach.

Again, isolate the problem. Maybe make a list of five problems, then select the one you’d like to tackle.

What if you’re not ready to make an ebook yet? Then simply start with a blog. A blog is a good way to catalog your thoughts. You can literally start putting your ideas out there that people can use to help themselves. Self-help. They call it this for a good reason, don’t they?

At Wordfeeder we provide done for you content for psychologists and coaches to turn into affordable products that help people.

You can set this up so that the advice is affordable and it’s also accessible for people who do not have insurance or the right insurance.

Anyone can sell ebooks and courses online. In the same way that you could write a book and have it published, you can create a digital course and offer it for sale.

But making an ebook or course is even quicker and easier than going through the steps of writing and having a book published.

Maybe you’d like to dive in and get started now. Why not? It’s a time when people really need comfort and guidance and this is exactly what you provide.

Need an extra brain to help you formulate a content production plan? Take a look at the done-for-you content available with our life coaching PLR monthly membership.
