The best way to make PLR (private label rights) or done-for-you content into a course is to do a content mashup. Combine the following:
- Several high quality content packs that contain about 15 articles each on a single topic, or several topics that closely relate.
- Your own headlines, title and branding. Example: you buy “Natural Cures for Insomnia” articles and title it “Sleep Well: Keys for Getting a Good Night’s Rest Every Night.”
- Your own thoughts and examples. Add to what’s there, and/or replace any ideas that you don’t agree with or have a different method for.
- Images that you find on the web. Many done-for-you content pack come with images included. But it’s better to customize this.
Also pick up…
- Some expert quotes to reference.
- Facts and stats to add credibility.
- Checklists and quick punch lists. You can add these from scratch. It’s not that hard but you do have to turn your brain on and engage with the content.
- Amazon product links if it’s a topic like the one described, that lends itself to small purchases.
Simple Formula: Start with an outline of your ebook/course chapters. Have your PLR document on the left and your course draft on the right.
Fill in articles/snippets wherever the PLR seems to fit the outline.
Read through and connect the ideas using your own words.
Alternate Course Creation Method Using PLR:
Start with the PLR as the bare bones of the document. Paste them all in the way they were presented. Then fill in the rest using your own thoughts, snippets, quotes, etc.
- Read through and move sections from here to there if necessary.
- When done (using either method), give everything a thorough proofread.
- Slip in your branding, bio and upsells.
