What level do you reach when it comes to editing and reworking your PLR articles? A lot of people don’t take the time to finesse they’re done for you content after they purchase it, and you really really should. Read on for tips on exactly how to do that.
4 Levels of PLR Editing
I did a TikTok off the cuff this morning. I wanted to let people know that we have 50% off content happening at Wordfeeder through the end of the month.
I figured that while I was at it, I would also remind people that when they get content with private label rights, it’s a really smart idea to edit the content and turn it into your own unique creation.
I mentioned that there were three levels of editing that you could strive for. But now that I’m thinking about it in more detail, there are actually four. Let’s take a look now at what these are.
Editing at level one involves changing titles and headlines.
This is pretty much a given if you’re going to use content that’s already been written for you. Change the title of any ebooks you’re creating. Also change the title if it’s an email series or coaching package.
Then go through and change the headlines of any articles that you’ll be publishing. This goes for blog posts, newsletters, email blasts and also articles as they appear in your ebook or course that you’re making from the content that you purchased.
Level two is change the first paragraph or two.
This applies at those times when you have decided to edit the pre-written articles into a blog post or a series of blog posts. For each blog post that you create, come up with a unique title and also completely rewrite the first paragraph. Maybe even the second paragraph to be on the safe side.
Try not to overthink it when you rewrite the content. Just dictate into Google docs and you should be able to come up with a fresh intro pretty quickly. The more you do this, the better you will get at it. Before long, you won’t even have to think when rewriting the first paragraph of a content package that you purchased.
Level three is to do what was suggested above including changing any titles, headlines, and rewriting the first paragraphs of each article you’re printing on its own.
But don’t stop there. At level three you want to also switch around the points. This is a really great method of changing PLR. Plus, it’s easy because you don’t have to research anything.
The better you get at reordering and reorganizing the points made in the content, the more it becomes a unique presentation even if the information has already been shared elsewhere. Why? Because what are we all really doing but taking information from over there and putting it over here? That’s pretty much how publishing goes.
I didn’t mention level four in the quick video that I put together.
But level four is where you really go deep and decide to rewrite most of the paragraphs of the articles that you have purchased.
Why would you want to do this? Well, suppose you plan on taking the information and making it into an ebook and then you also want to share some of the details in your blog in order to drive traffic.
If you can pull out chunks of the content that you plan to publish in the ebook and then paste them into a new blog post, and rewrite some parts of that content so that it doesn’t sound the way it sounded in the ebook, you’ll be in really good shape.
