Keyword Research. It’s That Time Again!

Hey online business owners! No matter what niche you’re in, the change of seasons means it’s time to recheck your website pages and do some tinkering to improve performance.

Many people don’t know that once you publish a page, you can definitely go back in and change things at any time to help that page improve performance in driving targeted traffic in helping you get more sales for your info products, services and affiliate offerings.

Less “Hops” Means More Sales for You. Learn What That Means.

Here’s a quick how-to if you’re not used to doing this.

View your website through the eyes of your ideal customers. Remember that not everyone will arrive on your website via the homepage. In fact, most web searchers will land on your deeper content pages. That’s why it’s important to continually publish high quality tips and articles.

If you have major niche category pages those are going to get a lot of traffic if you set them up right.

So let’s suppose you are driving traffic to people who want to create 30 minute meals. Go directly to that page of your website. What do you see there? Are the products up-to-date? Are they seasonally appropriate? Is it time to switch out what’s there with something fresh and timely?

If you’re not not sure if your keywords are set up to work for you? Visit Wordtracker.com. This is a great place to start if you want to see search volume.

When it comes to keyword searches, bigger doesn’t always mean better as far as search numbers go. If you select keywords that have a very high volume of search it means you’re probably going to get buried by the competition. But on the other hand, if your keywords have low searches you’re just not going to make a lot of sales. So go with a happy medium.

To sell books and courses check to see if you have placed those niche keywords in the page title, H1 and H2 headlines of your pages and so forth.

Your digital product doesn’t have to have those keywords in the title, but it never hurts to slip them in there such as for a subhead or lead in.

Of course you’re going to need lots of fresh content to drive traffic to your digital products. Wordfeeder has that for you in just about any niche you may publish to.
