Done for You Content How-To Guide

plr articles how to use

Done-for-you content, otherwise known as private label rights content, offers many uses to grow your business and create passive income via information sharing, teaching, and coaching.

done for you content

What is done-for-you content?

Done-for-you content is the term for content that's already been written or designed, and comes to you with editing and branding rights. Some examples of done-for-you content include articles, ebooks, planners and social media graphics.

What does private label rights mean?

Private label rights means that the content is being sold unbranded. It's similar to having a freelance writer create a draft for you, which you then edit and publish. Private label rights content can be edited by you, and you have permission to brand it as your company name or your own name.

After you've turned the content into a digital product, you have permission to sell it as an end-use product, like an e-guide, or an email course. Read here for more info on different usage rights.

digital products

How to use done-for-you content to make ebooks and digital products

The specifics of how to use PLR, or done-for-you content to make digital products, will vary slightly depending on what you're creating. Here are the basics:

  1. Download the done-for-you content product you've purchased, such as a document containing articles on a topic.
  2. Create a new document next to the original document. Copy and paste the text from the original, purchased document into the new file.
  3. Decide what keywords and buzzwords you'd like to use in your new document. Use these to create a new title, chapters, headings and so forth.
  4. Read through the existing articles, and edit them as you see fit. You may add your ideas to what's there, delete parts that don't match your views, cut out sections to use elsewhere for a different product or publication, and so forth.
  5. Once you're happy with your new creation, style the text to whatever format you plan to use it in. For example, if you purchased 15 articles that you want to turn into an ebook, then open Canva and paste each page of text into an ebook template.
  6. Add images if you like. Find free and low-cost images on sites like Pexels.com or Pixabay.
  7. Get ready to publish the content in its finished form. So if you're turning it into a guide, then download the Canva ebook as a PDF. If you're planning to copy and paste into a series of blog posts, then execute that task.

blogger

How to use done-for-you content to create blog posts

Done-for-you content makes a great series of blog posts that drills down into a topic. For niche bloggers, this is a great, economical option. Follow the steps for publishing PLR articles as blog posts.

  1. Open the document(s) containing the articles you plan to publish.
  2. Log into your blog and create a new post.Title the post something unique, using common keywords that people would be searching to learn more about the topic.
  3. Make keyword-optimized sections of the blog post. Each one should start with an H1, H2, H3 etc. heading.
  4. For the first paragraph of the blog post, copy and paste in that same section of the article you're publishing. Then, edit the beginning. This is an important step because you want your article to be unique, and not like other articles out there.
  5. Paste each section of the PLR article into each heading-topped section of the blog post. Edit the text a bit, but don't go crazy.
  6. Add your own conclusion, bio and call to action to the bottom of the article.
  7. Find some good stock photos (again, sites like Pexels.com and Pixabay have them), and add these to each section of the blog post. Label the alt tags of the images with keywords.
  8. Optimize your blog post by following the suggestions provided by SEO tools like Yoast (if you don't use this, activate the WordPress plugin - it's super helpful for getting your blog posts to rank).
  9. Add keyword tags to your post. Check off an appropriate category for your post.
  10. Copy and paste in your pay-per-click ad code (such as Google AdSense) into the post, and/or Amazon product affiliate links, with some images, if you plan to monetize.
  11. Edit, proofread and publish!

email newsletter

How to use done-for-you content to create your email newsletter

Done-for-you content (or private label rights articles) work great to speed up email newsletter production. The most time-consuming part of creating an email newsletter, after all, is writing the feature article.

As someone who purchases PLR, you'll have lots of great, informational content that can serve as your newsletter's article feature. For example, if you publish a gardening website and newsletter, maybe you need a prewritten article on how to grow tomatoes from seed.

  1. Select the article that you want to feature in your newsletter, from your collection of PLR.
  2. Log into your email list manager, such as Aweber. Navigate to the list you plan to send out a mass email to.
  3. Start a new email. Copy and paste the article text in.
  4. Type in your greeting. This only needs to be a few short sentences.
  5. Dream up a promotional offer, and type in the details of that. (Example, if you offer gardening services in your area, maybe you're running a deal - $100 off garden bed prep this spring).
  6. Add images to your newsletter - these can either be stock photos, or ones you took that pertain to your business.
  7. Proofread everything and make your newsletter email friendly. (Examples of this - replace paragraph tags with line breaks; use full URLs and not relative URLS).
  8. Proofread, add a subject line, and press SEND!

content creator

How to use done-for-you content to make videos and reels?

You probably know from being a content creator, that making videos takes a long time, and it can be challenging. There will be times when you just don't feel like having your face on show, using your own voice, or filming your personal space for the world to see. BUT you need a lot of content to get those views and follows, so you can be paid by the platforms!

This is where PLR content comes in. It's a HUGE productivity booster and time-saver if you make video content online.

The best way to make videos out of PLR is to do storyboards or slide shows. You've probably come across these on the platforms. Here's how to make them out of a PLR article.

  1. Open up the document that contains a series of tips on a niche topic of interest to your audience.
  2. Open your video editing program.
  3. Import a solid color image. If you don't have this, just google "black," then screen shot it and crop to make a background image.
  4. Select a tip from the article. Paste it into the video using the Text feature. Extend the slide (photo color) to the number of seconds that it would take to read the tip out loud. This could be anywhere from 4 to 9 seconds or so.
  5. Import another background color photo (can be black again, or do another color). Add Text, and paste in/edit another tip from the article. Repeat for all tips.
  6. To make your video more exciting, add images between storyboard slides. You can find the images on stock photo sites, or use ones you've taken yourself, if relevant. Save the images to your device, to prepare for uploading to the video.
  7. Between each tip slide, click the plus sign (+) to import a matching image from your device. Repeat until each slide has a matching image.
  8. Add sound. You can set your video to music from the platform's music library, or record your own voice speaking each tip out loud.
  9. Trim each section of the video to sync up with the sound, if needed.
  10. Add an ending. People commonly say "thanks for watching, like and follow for more." You can also invite viewers to visit your site, if applicable.
